What is Registration?
Registration is the formal process of enrolling and recording the qualifications and credentials of healthcare professionals, such as Nurses, Midwives, Health Workers, Health Visitors, and B.Sc. Nurses, with a governing body or council. This process ensures that the professionals meet the necessary standards and qualifications to practice legally and safely within a specific region or state.
In the context of NTR University (YSRUHS) and APNMC, registration involves the following steps:
- Verification of Credentials: The governing council verifies the educational qualifications and certifications of the applicant to ensure they meet the required standards.
- Issuance of Registration Certificate: Once the credentials are verified, the council issues a registration certificate. This certificate is proof that the professional is authorized to practice in Andhra Pradesh.
- Periodic Renewal: As per the recommendations of the Indian Nursing Council (INC), registered professionals must renew their certificates every five years to maintain their registration status. This ensures that they remain up-to-date with current practices and continue to meet professional standards.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC): For candidates who have studied and passed their examinations in other states, obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) is a prerequisite for registration in Andhra Pradesh. The NOC confirms that there are no objections to the candidate registering in a different state.
